Hawks continue playoff push with win over Modesto

Los Rios Police share details about recent lockdown

The alleged crime took place on campus in the parking structure on March 10. The campus was put on a precautionary lockdown when the Los Rios Police Department was alerted of the crime and lasted from 3:09 p.m. to 4:13 p.m.

‘Hogwarts Legacy’ perfectly captures the magical Wizarding World for players to explore

Portkey Games released “Hogwarts Legacy” on Feb. 10 set in the Wizarding World. The game takes place over 100 years before the events of the “Harry Potter” novels.

Finally, a video game that’s actually good that’s set in the Wizarding World of “Harry Potter.”

The excitement for the “Hogwarts Legacy” game was through the roof since it was announced at Sony’s PlayStation 5 showcase in September 2020. The game was released on Feb. 10 by Portkey Games and has lived up to its hype.

Campus sees 8% increase in enrollment over the past year

The Cosumnes River College enrollment has increased by over 8% over the past two semesters. Here are a couple of students walking around the campus at the CRC Quad.

The enrollment at Cosumnes River College has increased more than 8.3% from the spring 2022 semester to the spring 2023 semester campus officials said.

Students voice their thoughts on the death of Tyre Nichols

Twenty-nine-year-old Tyre Nichols, who was from Sacramento, was pulled over for reckless driving and was assaulted by Memphis Police officers in Memphis, Tennessee on Jan. 7. Nichols died three days later on Jan. 10 from the assault and five officers are being charged with second-degree murder.

Hawks raise money and awareness for cancer in basketball fundraiser

The Athletic Department held a fundraiser dedicated to fighting against cancer during Tuesday’s women’s and men’s basketball games against Santa Rosa Junior College.

The fundraiser, called Coaches vs. Cancer, was part of a nationwide collaborative program between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. All earnings from ticket sales, concessions, donations and raffle entries over the two games were donated to the American Cancer Society.

Man found dead on campus, died by suicide

A deceased individual was found on Cosumnes River College’s campus near the west side of the main entrance in the parking structure on Tuesday night, according to an email sent out from CRC.

The Los Rios Community College District sent out an email alert to initiate precautionary lockdown procedures at 5 p.m. and the campus stayed on lockdown for over 40 minutes.

New Twitter CEO Elon Musk officially bought Twitter on Oct. 27 for $44 billion dollars. It’s been an eventful couple of months for Twitter under Musk’s ownership.

The reign of new Twitter CEO Elon Musk has been a wild ride so far, but not for the best.

It all began on Apr. 14 when Musk tweeted that he made an offer to buy Twitter at $44 billion dollars. One thing led to another and on Oct. 27, Musk officially bought Twitter and became the new owner.
